At this time, we are accepting applications for lifeguards for the upcoming pool season! Whether you are a returning guard or a new guard we are looking for dedicated, hardworking, and kind individuals for a variety of positions. Applications are available on the FSRC website or by clicking the following link – Guard Application. All applications are due by Friday, March 10th at 11:59 PM and Jim will start reaching out to applicants soon thereafter.
In order to be a lifeguard, you need to be lifeguard and CPR certified. Certification and recertification information is at the bottom of the email.
This year, a new position will be offered, front desk. This position will only work in the evenings and does not require lifeguard/CPR certification.
Please note: All guards under the age of 16 will be required, by law, to have a work permit and it must be submitted to management prior to the beginning of the season. Work permits can be issued by the local high school, the nearest Regional Office of Education (ROE) and the Illinois Department of Labor.

Certification Information:
All Lifeguard candidates must be able to complete the following pre test to be considered for a candidate for the Ellis and Associates lifeguard training class
-Swim 200m untimed using Front Crawl or Breaststroke
-Recover a 10lb brick from the a pool 12’ on depth
-Tread water for 2 minutes continuously with your hands over your head
Each lifeguard candidate will be certified by Farmstead’s licensed Lifeguard Instructor authorized by Jeff Ellis and Associates. This certification ensures that the lifeguards at Farmstead Swim and Racquet Club have met the highest standards of training and are prepared to handle any situation that may arise. There is no need for additional Lifeguard training prior to being hired. Jim Geovanes will certify you. Your lifeguard certification is good for 1 calendar year and is site specific to Farmstead Swim and Racquet Club.
